Outkast

Georgia natives Andre “Andre 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton are OutKast, one of the most successful rap groups of all time. Helped by production from the influential collective Organized Noize, Benjamin and Patton popularized and expanded what “Southern rap” sounds like. Benjamin, the spacey, vegan fashion plate, and Patton, the pimp-alicious gangster, have shown off their chemistry on many successful albums.

ALBUMS

Outkast - Stankonia (2000)

the fourth studio album by American hip hop duo OutKast. It was released on October 31, 2000, by La Face Records. The album was recorded in the duo's recently purchased Atlanta recording facility, Stankonia Studios, allowing for fewer time constraints and more musical experimentation. On this album, the duo worked to create an expansive and experimental musical aesthetic, incorporating a diverse array of musical styles that included funk, drum 'n' bass, gospel, techno, psychedelia, and rock into a Dirty South-oriented hip hop context.

T.I. - Trap Muzik (2003)

The second studio album by American hip hop recording artist T.I., released on August 19, 2003, through Atlantic Records and his newly founded record label Grand Hustle Records. The album spawned the hit singles "24's", "Be Easy", "Rubber Band Man", and "Let's Get Away".

Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music (2012)

Killer Mike’s 2012 album, R.A.P. Music (or Rebellious African People) relied on production from El-P, a partnership that would spawn the wildly successful hip hop due, Run the Jewels. "I put everything into this record. I said I was going to do everything I wanna do and say everything I wanna say."

Future - DS2 (2015)

DS2 (aka Dirty Sprite 2) is Future’s third studio album and the sequel to his 2011 breakout mixtape, Dirty Sprite. The album was supported by four singles "Fuck Up Some Commas", "Real Sisters", "Blow a Bag" and "Where Ya At" featuring Drake.

Young Thug - Barter 6 (2015)

Tha Barter VI was released on April 17th, 2015 – the same date as Thug’s mom’s birthday. The album was originally dubbed “Tha Carter 6” as a spiritual successor to his idol Lil Wayne’s Carter series, but 3 days before its release, Thug swapped the ‘C’ for a ‘B’ – a true reflection of both his and Wayne’s Blood ties. (Plus the idea of a lawsuit was probably not appealing.)
